What's New?

My new Satirical Series is off to a GREAT start.... check this out!

I'm not political by nature, however, what is happening south of our border has given me pause to paint.  The first two paintings in my satirical series are now available.

"Elbows Up"  and "Our Big Beautiful Bill".

Elbows Up $50,000 for Charity

I am honoured and proud that Jay-Co Welding bid $50,000 on my painting, Elbows Up during the live auction at the annual Kevin Karius Celebrity Golf Classic in July.

I painted this to honour Canada’s strength and independent spirit. The title, Elbows Up, is a nod to Canadian tenacity—a quiet yet firm gesture of standing one's ground, wings spread in defence and dignity.

The original may have sold for $50,000, but we've made the reproductions affordable with only 158 limited edition archival canvases available - marking each year since Confederation with a unique, numbered tribute to Canada's enduring identity. Signed and numbered, each painting includes a Certificate of Authenticity and a Story Card.

Elbows Up also marks the beginning of my new series, an exploration of resilience and symbolism through iconic animal narratives. Each piece in the series will offer a fresh lens on sovereignty, strength, and spirit.

Elbows Up raised $50,000 for Easter Seals at auction.

Elbows Up Series

You can own a piece of Canadian history! Three paintings will be included in the series, and the first two are now available.

Celebrating Life in Art

With more than 40 years of experience creating custom designs for customers, I work with pet lovers to capture their companions in stunning portraits, sculptures, handcrafted pet urns and memory stones.

I recently added preserved moss art to my offering, check it out!

Hand-painted Pet Portraits

A pet portrait is a very special gift for any pet parent.  My specialty is capturing the personality in every portrait I paints.

Dogs, cats, horses, cows and bearded dragons have been subjects in my portfolio recently, and I love them all.

Every piece is painted and varnished on professional grade gallery wrapped canvas using the highest quality of acrylic paint and UV protective finish.

 Sculptures

I love to capture a pet's gesture or personality in clay, and in some projects, I tell a story by combining a variety of materials.

With your idea and a touch of imagination and skill, pretty much anything is possible.

To see special projects I've created for an Indigenous group, go to my page, Projects & Processes.

Moss Art

Preserved Moss Art provides a touch of the outdoors. Maintenance free, your Moss Art will last for many years to come.

I feature a few pieces at the market, and create custom pieces to fit any space.

I will create a custom piece to fit any space, using all natural material, including, moss, bark, wood, rock, preserved plants and mushrooms.

I also sculpt amphibians or lady bugs in clay and add them for a special touch.

Helping express gratitude, feelings, and sentiments when words aren’t enough.

There is nothing more gratifying than capturing a pet's personality in a portrait and sharing the finished piece with my clients. Whether I am working on a canvas, sculpting a pet in clay or creating a one-of-kind pet urn, there is a meditative quality to each process.  I LOVE what I do, and helping clients celebrate their pet in an artistic manner is the icing on the cake.

If you're a pet owner, you understand that our pets are more than just animals; they're part of our families. Losing a pet can be a devastating experience, leaving a void that can never truly be filled. However, it's important to remember that while our pets may no longer be with us physically, their memories live on. We can keep these memories alive in many ways, and we provide an artistically personal option with our line of custom-made pet urns, memory stones and pet portraits. Handcrafted by a Renowned Canadian Artist Our products are handcrafted by Shauna Madsen, a renowned Canadian artist. Shauna uses artisan concrete and reclaimed wood to create these beautiful pieces, each one designed with love and care. Her work is a testament to her talent and her deep understanding of the bond between pets and their owners. Whether you place the urn in your home or garden, it is a constant reminder of the love and companionship shared with your pet.
